Spring 2022 GT Tour Guide Application

    Thank you for your interest in becoming an official Georgia Tech Tour Guide! Campus tours operate out of the Undergraduate Admission Office located in the Bill Moore Student Success Center. The admission office cannot fully operate without the amazing time and effort the tour guides put in assisting visiting families.

    Prior to completing the application, all prospective applicants should take a moment to become familiar with the following requirements and responsibilities expected of each member of the Tour Guide organization.


    Georgia Tech Tour Guide Requirements:

    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
    • Must be enrolled at Tech through and available to give during Spring 2022.
    • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
    • Must be adaptable and able to market Tech to a wide variety of visitors (prospective students, faculty, alumni, or other).
    • Must demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong customer service/interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to commit fully to responsibilities and represent the Institute in a professional, positive manner.
    • Must commit to a minimum of two semesters (alternating semesters for a co-op or students studying abroad).
    • Must be available to give one tour a week at 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. or 2:15 - 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday during the traditional academic semesters of Fall and Spring.
    • Must be available to attend the mandatory training when scheduled. 
     

    Expectations for Tour Guides

    • Tour Guides serve as information resources and friendly representatives of Georgia Tech for visiting families, faculty, staff, and students.
    •  Tour Guides are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to their tour time each week
      • (i.e. arrive by 11:00   am for 11:15 am tours and arrive by 1:45 pm for 2:00 pm tours)
      • Tours should arrive back no later than 12:45 pm and 3:30 pm.
    • Each week during their tour time, Tour Guides should be prepared to either give a tour or help in the office.
    •  Tour Guides are expected to look polished and professional by adhering to the Tour Guide Dress Code.
    •    Weekly tours and biweekly meetings are mandatory. Tardiness and missed tours/meetings are not tolerated. If a Tour Guide is sick or has an appropriate reason for missing their weekly tour, they may attempt to find a replacement guide by the procedures outlined during training.
    •  Tour guides are expected to be available to give one tour per week during school sessions (except holidays) and two tours per week during High School spring breaks, which is typically the last week of March through the end of April. Once you are assigned a weekly tour time, you will not be able to change it in the middle of the semester.


     

    The Fall 2021 Tour Guide Application will close at 11:59 pm on Friday, October 29, 2021
